    1. [S46] USA Government, Affidavits, Lake Pepin Half-Breed Land Tract Claimants, (National Archives, Washington DC, 1854-56), The affidavit states that Jenny Campbell is 1/2 Blood Sioux. She is 31 at the date of the affidavid in 1854, she was born in 1823; it states that her father was Duncan Campbell, a half breed* and her mother was full blood of the Medawakanton band of the Sioux. Therefore Jenny is considered a half breed of the said Sioux band.
"Therese Campbell swears that she is a full blooded Medawakanton Sioux and married Duncan Campbell, a half blooded Sioux by whom she had a daughter 'Jenny'.
*Note: [this is likely an error as Duncan Campbell was almost certainly from Scotland and therefore 100% white - which makes sence if Jenny was half blood]; Gra-Crat, page 1-63, 64a, Various Family Books.
