Hun flyttede da hjem til V. Hassing, hvor hendes mor stadig levede, og hvor hun kom i nærheden af hele sin familie. Hun fik et hus med en lille trikotage forretning i V. Hassing og klarede dermed forsørgelsen af de otte børn:

      Father's sister Else Marie Eriksen 12.7.1871-15.12.1939. Aunt Else married Sergeant Lars Pedersen in Copenhagen, but was widowed already at 42 and became alone with a boy and seven girls aged 17-2 years. She moved home to V. Hassing, where her mother still lived, and where she came with her entire family. She got a house with a small crochet and knitting business in V.
