- [S46] USA Government, Affidavits, Lake Pepin Half-Breed Land Tract Claimants, (National Archives, Washington DC, 1854-56), In this affidavit (circa 1854), James Wells lists and names his wife and all children except Agnus who was born in 1859. He says that his wife is 37 which puts her birth date at 1817, and his age at 51 putting his birth as 1803, also marriage date of 1836. The Affidavit states that she is a half blood and that her mother was a full blood Sioux.; Gra-Wells, p 1-5,6, Various Family Books.
