[S220] Obituary, Death of Frank Young [Dion], (January 16, 1897), Partly: ...."After the death of his father [in 1860] Mr Young was adopted by a relative, Major McLaughlin, present US Indian Inspector, and was brought up and educated in that family, spending the greater part of his life among or adjacent to the Sioux Indians. He frequently served the government in various capacities such as scout, guide or interpreter.
