- [S215] Yvon Crête, Family tree data with sources, (2009 - 2011), Obit: “Pioneer river man 75 years old dies. Orrin Roundy Succumbs to Pneumonia Thursday Morning October 15th. Orrin Harding Roundy, one of the early steamboat engineers on the Mississippi River, died at St. Elizabeth's Hospital Thursday morning, October 14th [1937]. Pneumonia was the cause of death. Mr. Roundy had been at the local hospital since October 6th. He was 75 years of age. Deceased was born in Pepin, Wisconsin, March 4, 1862, and came with his parents to Wabasha when his father became manager of the Wabasha Boat Yards. Here he attended the Wabasha Public Schools and later followed the vocation of an engineer, spending the greater part of his life on the Mississippi River. At Alma, Wis., in the year 1891, he married Miss Mayme Cratte of Wabasha, who survives. Mr. Roundy also leaves two brothers and a sister, Milton Roundy of Wabasha; Thomas Roundy of Warroad, Minn., and Mrs. William Parker of Pepin, Wis. Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. Jason Hoffman in charge. Burial was in Riverview cemetery.
