Calgary Market
The Fuller family often hauled a load of coal and sold it at the Calgary market, some 100 kilometers one away. They then bought supplies needed for the mine or farm. This included barrels of food such as dried fruit, flour, oats, and other dry goods as well as clothing, etc.

The horse carriage has Grandpa [Veterinarian Jens Eriksen] holding the reins and Grandmother [Ane ‘Johanne’ Jensen] on the left in the back. The other couple is aunt Tille [Ottilia Jensine Eriksen, sister of my Grandpa] and her husband Johannes Hougaard from Kærgaard.

The white horse was named Rap. It could run pulling a one horse buggy for 1 hour, wait for the vet at one of his stops and run back home just as fast. If Grandpa fell asleep on the way home, the horse could find its own way.

Faribault, George and Euphrasine (St Antoine)
In 2008, this picture was hanging in the Faibault House, in the Sibley Historic Site in Mendota, Minnesota. A plaque under the picture read:
George Faribault Wedding
Jean Baptist Faribault likely hosted the wedding in celebration of the wedding of his oldest grandson, George to Euphrosine St. Antoine. The couple wed on October 30, 1850 in the log chapel of St. Peter, which stood just west of the Faribault house in Mendota. The wedding party then traveled to a St. Paul daguerreotype studio to record the occasion [with this picture].
(L to R)
Alexander Faribault, father of the groom;
Catholic priest, Father Augustin Ravoux;
George Faribault, the groom;
Euphrosine St. Antoine Faribault, the bride;
Jean Baptist Faribault, the grandfather of the groom.

George and Euphrosine Faribault inherited the Faribault house in Mendota in 1851 and operated “a well known hotel” until 1870. Several other proprietors ran hotels in the Faribault house. After the death of his wife in 1847, Jean Baptist made his home with his daughter in Faribault Minnesota.
